NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A big rally on the Yale campus against climate change. Hundreds of students and activists gathered, demanding Yale get rid of its investments in fossil fuel companies. They say the university is profiting off of climate destruction. “We think of this rally as a culmination of 6 years of asking Yale to divest and disclose investments. This consisted of talks with administration, letter writing, interviews etc. and they still haven’t budged”, said Yale student Esul Burton. They say the school is also exploiting Puerto Rico. They’re demanding that Yale forgive any debt Puerto Rico owes to the university.
