Investigations are continuing after a man failed to stop his car for police in Beechdale on Friday, October 12. Armed officers, a dog handler and a police helicopter were all called to the incident in Southfield Road at about 7.50am. The car was abandoned and a man made off on foot. A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that detectives are investigating the incident and that the vehicle has been seized as part of their inquiries. No arrests have yet been made, the force added. Despite the heavy police presence in the area on Friday, officers reassured people that there was no wider risk to the public.
