Teenagers campaign to revamp ‘unsafe’ Woking skate park

Images of Woking skate park have revealed rusty edges, exposed nails and bent ramps that a group of teenagers believe make it unsafe for children. Ollie Henderson, 16, has started a campaign to get the skate park renovated, as he said the council should be investing in young people as it regenerates the town centre. Speaking to Get Surrey, Ollie said he was particularly concerned about younger users of the area. He said: “It is all unsafe, it is OK for the older lads but it is the younger kids who go round with scooters that we are most worried about – the 10-year-olds whose parents go and sit down.
