Preston Blake MooreTarrant Police A Columbiana man is in custody after reportedly ramming a police officer's vehicle during a pursuit earlier this week. Preston Blake Moore, 25, was taken into custody by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies on Friday morning. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail. Tarrant police on Wednesday tried to stop a maroon Toyota for a traffic violation, said Lt. Larry Rice. The vehicle fled from lawmen at a high rate of speed. During the chase, the driver of the vehicle - now identified as Moore - intentionally rammed a Tarrant police officer's cruising. The vehicle was damaged, but the officer wasn't injured. Moore continued to flee at a high rate of speed through residential neighborhoods. Police called off the chase since Moore was "driving at a complete disregard for the safety of others on the roadway," Rice said. A 58-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after rear-ending an SUV in Tarrant County, Fort Worth police said. The crash occurred about 5:40 p.m. on westbound State Highway 183 at State Highway 360. Bystanders were performing CPR on the man, who a caller said was bleeding from the head, while MedStar headed to the scene, spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.The motorcyclist had been speeding when he struck the SUV, police said. He was transported in critical condition to Texas Health Harris Methodist H-E-B, where he died.It's unclear whether the man, whose identity has not been released, was wearing a helmet. The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office has investigated complaints that voters' names were forged on the petition to place Justice of the Peace Russ Casey on the March 6 ballot to represent Precinct 3 in northeastern Tarrant County, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported. Candidates for some races must get at least 250 voters to sign a petition to get their names on a ballot.Casey had more than 300 names for his bid for re-election. But when his challenger, Lenny Lopez, looked at the petition in January he noticed a number of signatures looked similar, NBC5 reported.Lopez brought his concerns to the Direct Action Texas government watchdog group, which reached out to voters whose names were on the petition.
