Maruti Suzuki have just closed the month of September with a pretty good sales figure. In fact, the top six cars among the top ten best sellers of September were from the Maruti stables and a total of seven cars in top ten, the other three being Hyundais. The top spot for sales this time was taken by the Maruti Swift with 22,228 units shipped out of the factory. That’s a growth of more than 3,000 units as compared to August which saw 19,115 units leave the factory. Now, let’s take you through the reasons as to why the Swift is selling so well. “I believe no one can ever regret being a teacher.” Jean de la Croix Kuradusenge, 45, rides his bicycle 20 kilometres every working day to teach at Rubavu District, Western Province, Rwanda. Many of his friends have left teaching behind for other employment, but Mr. Kuradusenge has been happy in the profession for 17 years. Why? Teaching effects almost every one of us and, for Mr. Kuradusenge, it’s the reason he teaches today and why his students have continued on to higher education. Imagine this kind of impact on a larger scale. If we consider that every teacher reaches thousands of young people over their careers, then investments in even one teacher can result in exponential gains in learning outcomes, particularly in disadvantaged communities. More than 90 percent of countries across Africa face shortages in teachers for secondary education. And these shortages are getting worse. While the demand for secondary education increases, challenges, including teacher … [Read more...] about FEATURED: Five reasons why Kuradusenge teaches
Preseason. It's always time for optimism in sports. Most decent teams think that if things break right for them, this could be their year. Good teams expect to go far. As the saying goes, hope springs eternal.Such is the case for the Houston Rockets. We are barely into the now shortened NBA preseason, yet there is considerable optimism in and around Toyota Center. That's what happens when you were literally a pulled Chris Paul hamstring away from the NBA Finals (and a likely title). But there are legitimate reasons to believe this will, yet again, be an elite NBA team.OffenseHistorically, the Rockets were one of the great offenses in NBA history last year and that is unlikely to change. The players they lost compared to who they have added would indicate they will be as good if not better on offense this season. For other teams in the NBA, that should be terrifying. They are also planning to go even further into the threes, free throws and layups philosophy that took them so far last … [Read more...] about Four Reasons the Rockets Will Be Really Good This Season
