When you think of great accessories that will make your iPod touch experience the best it can be, you think of just a few things; great headphones or speakers, and great battery extenders. What's a more perfect way to extend your battery life than with a battery that doubles as a case? Finding a battery case for your iPhone is a relatively simple task: in fact, we here at iMore really love our battery cases. When Apple announced the updated iPod touch 7, the first thing we did was search for battery cases for it. Since the iPod touch 7 is the same exact size as the iPod touch 6, you would have thought there'd be dozens of them still on the market, but surprisingly, no. I've searched far and wide to find a selection of iPod touch 7 cases that'll charge your battery as you blast your tunes, and your pickings are pretty much non-existent. Case makers and designers are seriously losing out on not bringing back their old iPod touch battery cases for the new iPod touch 7. In fact, there … [Read more...] about This is the only battery case for iPod touch 7 right now!
New battery for ipod touch
Apple's latest 2019 update is for a product some of us thought was just about to go the way of the dinosaur, the iPod touch. Though rumors have been circling for months, I for one, didn't put much stock in it because, well ... why? Low and behold, on Tuesday, May 28, just a week after Apple updated the MacBook Pro, it added the iPod touch 7 to the 2019 roster. With nothing but a processor bump and larger storage capacity (Rene's minimalist review is: "Now with A10 and 256GB of storage), the real question becomes, who is this for? After putting it through its paces, I can definitely say that Apple has made a smart move here, launching an updated, but still basic iPod touch that can serve as a dedicated device for those of us already in the Apple ecosystem and a gateway device for those who want to try out Apple's services but don't want to pay the premium for an iPhone or iPad. Price: From $199Bottom line: Not everyone needs an iPod touch, but at the fraction of the cost of a new … [Read more...] about iPod touch 7 review: An Android user’s best Apple friend
After nearly three years of neglect, Apple has updated its iPod touch line with a faster, 64-bit A8 chip, an 8MP camera, along with 64GB and 128GB storage options. As the company pushes Apple Music to more people, it thinks the new iPod touch is the perfect vehicle to do so for a younger generation. While the device’s screen size and resolution remains unchanged at 4-inches and 1136×640 pixels, the new A8 chip is over 20x faster than the 2012-era A5, and extends the device’s reputation as a gaming device. The A8 chip is also significantly more efficient than the A5, so battery life should be significantly improved over the older iPod touch despite the added computational power. Apple doesn’t state it explicitly, but it’s also likely the new touch has 1GB of RAM compared to the 512MB inside the older model. Also new is the 8MP iSight camera, which nominally improves the capture performance, though likely to iPhone 5s levels and not beyond. The f/2.4 lens … [Read more...] about Apple announces faster, higher-capacity iPod Touch with A8 processor and 128GB storage option
A new report suggests Apple “might” make the switch to USB-C in 2019 on both the iPhone and iPad. The report, from supply chain blog Macotakara, claims Apple engineers are working on the USB-C transition but haven’t yet reached the reference design stage — meaning, it could miss the 2019 cut-off, pushing it to 2020. Macotakara, for those unfamiliar with the blog, has a sound track record, although not a perfect one. Take any rumors coming from a supply chain blog with a grain of salt. Here be gadgets Not here exactly, but on our new hardware site Plugged. Here In other news from the same source, Apple is almost certainly making a charge into technology it abandoned just a few years back: the portable MP3 player. The last iPod Touch launched in 2015, and was available for $199 for 32GB of storage. The iPod Classic was also shelved in 2015. As for other models, the Nano and Shuffle, both managed to eek their way into 2017 before Apple axed them, leaving a … [Read more...] about Report: Apple may abandon Lightning for USB-C (and bring back the iPod Touch)
By Stephen Silver Thursday, March 29, 2018, 10:05 am PT (01:05 pm ET) The new iOS 11.3 release for all remaining iOS devices has shipped, featuring new battery health information for iPhones, ARKit 1.5, a new Health Records feature, new Animoji characters, and more.
