One of the gripes that may have led to the election of President Donald Trump in 2016 was how the federal bureaucracy had overwhelmed the government to a point where some saw elected officials were no longer in charge, but instead unelected civil servants.During an appearance on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN, former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, a candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama discussed the progress Trump has made in taking on bureaucracy, or the so-called “deep state,” especially as it is related to within the Department of Justice. Sessions told “The Jeff Poor Show” that he credits Trump with those efforts, including the firing of James Comey as FBI director. “I think there’s been a substantial pushback,” Sessions said. “Comey, the FBI at the top level — not the grassroots here in Alabama and everything — but the FBI at the top level — they were leaking. They seemed to have a political agenda. They … [Read more...] about Sessions Touts ‘Substantial Pushback’ Against Deep State Under Trump — ‘One Unified Executive Under the Constitution’

Barlow’s style was in marked contrast both to the prevailing defeatism of Fleet Street bosses of the era and to the patrician tone of the family-dominated Pearson board. The FT’s historian David Kynaston recalled him as “aggressive … insisting that management... … [Read more...] about Sir Frank Barlow, media executive who transformed the fortunes of the FT and oversaw the creation of BSkyB – obituary

My first full-time job was as a telemarketing executive in a call centre for a US process. I joined this just after blowing up my trading account. I was looking at a job where I could trade in the day and work at night. It was to sell AT&T phone connections to people in the US. Soon, I started selling everything from mobile phone to restaurant listings, DVDs, etc. The brief I was given and what I did in the first 100 days at work THE IDEA WAS to sell as much as possible. The salary was less than Rs 12,000 and earning incentives were extremely important. Other than having decent selling skills, it was important to speak to as many people as possible to get high number of sales every month. I was an average performer in my first 100 days, trying to get a hang of speaking in as close to an American English accent as possible; getting used to my American pseudo name and trying to sell at the same time. The Anubhav Sinha directorial film is inspired by the Badaun rape incident. Speaking to ANI, Manoj Pahwa who is playing a vital role in the film, said, "This film is not completely based on the heinous crime that took place in Badaun where two girls were raped and hanged. We can say that this film is inspired by that incident and we have included some chunks of it." Playing a cop for the first time, the actor can be seen donning the attire of a no-nonsense police officer with an intense brooding face. Interestingly, the sunglasses worn by the actor says a lot more about the film and his character. In the lenses, bodies of two girls can be seen hanging from a tree which creates a lot more suspense. On the other side of the lense, the viewers can spot a group of people protesting against the crime.
