Jack Ross has handed a golden opportunity to five of the club’s under-23 players by inviting them on the pre-season training camp to Portugal. The Black Cats squad will jet out to Portugal for some warm-weather training as the new boss looks to get closer acquainted with his new squad. And Denver Hume, Elliot Embleton, Luke Molyneux, Andrew Nelson and 16-year-old Bali Mumba will all be part of the contingent that go. As well as plenty of fitness training, the trip will also offer Ross the chance to try and improve squad morale and integrate new signings also. Portugal came perilously close to a group stage exit from the World Cup during a frenetic stoppage-time period on Monday when unfancied Iran equalised through a penalty and almost scored a winner after Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier missed from the spot. Iran had a golden opportunity to cause a massive upset in the FIFA World Cup 2018 when their striker Mehdi Taremi failed to convert from a one-on-one position in the dying minutes of the match. Had the-25-year-old scored, Iran would've topped the group ahead of Spain, and Ronaldo's Portugal would've been sent packing in the most sensational fashion. The European champions held on to advance to the round of 16 from Group B behind Spain but would now have to take on a much tougher opposition in Group A toppers Uruguay in … [Read more...] about FIFA World Cup 2018: When Iran missed a golden opportunity in the 94th minute to knock out Ronaldo’s Portugal

However, it might prove a pivotal moment for a very different reason. In his Mansion House speech last night, Philip Hammond confirmed that taxes will rise to pay for the NHS boost. In doing so, the Tories risk throwing away their strong unique selling point as the low tax party, and possibly helping Labour to tackle its biggest weakness – a lack of trust on the economy. Labour has traditionally been seen as the party with a heart, the Tories as having a head. Commenting on the latest development, Dr. Mahanamahewa said the US-Sri Lanka sponsored 2015 resolution in a nutshell says that Sri Lankan forces committed war crimes and therefore, a hybrid court should be established to investigate charges. “However, the US says the UNHRC is of no use and like a cesspool. The US also accused the council of being biased and not protecting human rights of a country. We can embark on this statement. The UN resolution was adopted with the consent of the co-sponsors. If one party leaves, the other cannot stand alone. The council must now find a sponsor to fill the vacancy. The Sri Lankan President says the country has won over the hearts of the West as well as the East. We have a golden opportunity to fill the vacancy, preferably with an Asian country, and go ahead for an alternative and an interim resolution,” he told Daily Mirror. He said there were a lot of other countries that support Sri Lanka like Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Qatar … [Read more...] about Golden opportunity to find new co-sponsor: HR activist
