Gender Pay Gap: The 20 Nottinghamshire firms with the biggest gender pay gap Companies in Nottinghamshire with more than 250 employees have revealed the difference in pay between men and women, following last night’s deadline. The company with the highest median pay gap between male and female members of staff was The Evolve Trust with a 58.3 per cent disparity. This means that women earn 42p for every £1 that men earn.At the other end of the scale, Purico Limited pay women 61 per cent more than men.The average median pay gap for companies based in Nottinghamshire was 12.2 per cent, which compares to a national average of 12 per cent. East midlands conference centre
The Nottingham Post Business Awards took over East Midlands Conference Centre last night for a glittering ceremony celebrating the very best and brightest of Nottingham’s businesses. Close to 150 nominations poured in for the awards this year, which was then whittled down to 40 finalists in 14 different categories to represent the very best the region has to offer, from innovative new technologies to marketing to construction. The big winner on the night in the Company of the Year category, sponsored by Yu Energy, was UNiDAYS, the Nottingham-based company which provides students with discounts from a number of huge brands, including ASOS, Apple, EE and Microsoft. These passionate young chefs are used to the pressure of creating mouthwatering dishes in a busy restaurant kitchen. But this was a different league. Cooking for a man, whose restaurant is deemed one of the best in the world, ramped up the heat to another level. Not surprisingly they were full of nerves, excitement... and terror. After more than 7,200 nominations, the finalists of the 2018 Nottinghamshire Food and Drink Awards have been decided. There are long-established favourites, like Hart’s, in its 20th anniversary year. Then there are newcomers - fine dining restaurant Alchemilla and Nottingham Street Food Club. Cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants in the city centre, the length and breadth of the county and into Derbyshire - which is part of the Nottingham Post reach - are up for accolades in the prestigious annual competition celebrating everything that is good about eating and drinking.
