Chennai: In a shocking development, a Tamil TV actress named Sangeetha Balan was arrested on Sunday for allegedly running a prostitution racket at a resort here. According to reports from news agency ANI, along with Sangeetha, a person named Satish has also been held. The duo used to lure young girls by promising them well-paid jobs and a chance to feature in films and TV shows. They were sent to jail after being reportedly produced in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Egmore on Sunday. Sangeetha is a well-known face in the Tamil TV industry. She has appeared in shows like 'Vani Rani', 'Chellamay Aval', and 'Valli'. She made her debut in the Tamil film industry with the film Karuppu Roja in 1996.
