From a politician to a statesman: In an era of dirty politics, Imran Khan’s speech was a breath of fresh air
By Hamza Junaid Published: July 27, 2018 0 SHARES Share Tweet Email All eyes were glued to the television screens when he first addressed the nation as the prime minister in waiting. I started following Imran Khan when he used to be that kid who had a penny in his pocket but wanted to buy everything at the grocery store. He had one seat in the parliament, but he roared his opinions like one was more than enough. From one seat in the parliament for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to winning five seats as ‘Imran Khan’ alone, he has come a long way. All eyes were glued to the television screens when he first addressed the nation as the prime minister in waiting. Challenges awaiting Imran and his party are piled up like Jenga blocks; one wrong move could mean the entire tower of blocks collapses. However, if the victory speech is anything to go by, then Imran has already won our hearts. Imran Khan ticks all the right boxes during his first speech after winning the … [Read more...] about From a politician to a statesman: In an era of dirty politics, Imran Khan’s speech was a breath of fresh air

Sharese Pulliam was nervous during the parent orientation session with the Greater Newark Fresh Air Fund. Pulliam had agreed to allow her 11-year-old son, Tyler Harrison, to attend overnight camp, but she was still agonizing over the decision. "That's my baby," said Pulliam, of Newark. "He's never been away from me." She wanted to know if he could bring his cellphone to Camp Tecumseh in Pittstown, but Evon Garvin, the Fresh Air Fund coordinator, said that wasn't possible. "If you don't hear from them (kids), that's a good thing," Garvin told Pulliam. … [Read more...] about Newark kid is a comfort to parent about camping with Greater Newark Fresh Air Fund

Chef is breath of fresh air for Cyprus economy
AGNIESZKA RAKOCZY meets a chef who is keen to evolve his own style of cuisine and who has his eye on a Michelin star being given in Cyprus It is difficult to figure out someone so concentrated and focussed on realising his aspirations and achieving his future goals that he views any discussion of his past as an unnecessary diversion, one that might slow him down from reaching his destination and fulfilling his life’s quest. Yet how to comprehend, much less appreciate, so determined and driven a figure without stopping along the route he has travelled to savour the stories and better appreciate the experiences, the very dreams, his vision and accomplishments are built upon? I am talking here about Petros Andrianou, the 38-year-old, Paris-trained professional chef, and founder of 3 Forks Lab. Hailed as one of the most creative cooks in Cyprus, knowing enthusiasts who might otherwise turn up their noses at being called foodies regard him as the new hope, a breath of fresh air on the … [Read more...] about Chef is breath of fresh air for Cyprus economy
