Over the last few months I've written about the persistent rumors that Apple will remove the headphone jack on the next iPhone.Every time I write about it, readers' comments have been generally negative, with some folks threatening to boycott the iPhone when Apple drops the headphone jack.Well, from all indications, including published reports citing "people familiar with the matter" and some early iPhone 7 cases I've received, it's the end of the road for the iPhone's headphone hack. But don't panic, folks. After being on the fence about the issue these last few months, I've come to the conclusion I can live without the headphone jack. And I think you can, too. Here are the reasons why: Now playing: Watch this: Should Apple kill the headphone jack? 4:10 Bluetooth headphones have improved and are increasingly affordableThe last two years both consumers and manufacturers have embraced wireless products. Apple certified battery case for iphone 7 plus
Once upon a time, it seemed like everybody was buying battery cases for their iPhones to get the extra juice they needed to get through the day. However, the big problem with a battery case is that it makes your phone bulky and heavy, and with phones growing larger and larger, the battery case just doesn't always make as much sense as it once did. In my opinion, an external battery pack is the way to go.To that end, I've rounded up the best compact batteries out there. Although they cost more, I personally like batteries that have an integrated Lightning cable built into them so I don't have to worry about carrying around a charging cable. But I've also included some budget picks for those who want to spend as little as possible. And, while we're planning a separate roundup for Android models, anything here without an integrated Lightning cable will work perfectly well with an Android phone (or any other portable gadget), so long as you provide a micro-USB or USB-C compatible … [Read more...] about Best Power Banks and Battery Packs for iPhone
This year’s iPhone event was all about the tenth anniversary of the iPhone. So to celebrate that, Apple had a brand new phone in the form of the iPhone X (pronounced as iPhone Ten). Of course, Apple also announced the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, but these announcements were rushed as a lot of screen time was reserved for the iPhone X. This is the tenth anniversary iPhone and Apple has taken a break from its traditional design language with the iPhone X. It has also done away with the home button, which was a permanent fixture on the iPhone since its inception. This also happens to be the most expensive iPhone ever. Best Answer: The best way to replace the battery on your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus is to take it to Apple. If you have AppleCare+ on your iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, then a battery replacement will be no charge. If you're out of warranty, a battery replacement goes for $49 normally for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Another option, sometimes a bit cheaper, is to consider DIY, but this will void your warranty, so it's best for out-of-warranty devices. Or you can also find a local mobile phone repair shop that can replace batteries, but again, service from someone other than Apple themselves may void your warranty. How do I know if I need a new battery in my phone? Apple introduced some incredibly detailed battery info with iOS 12, and it's the easiest way to determine if you should be getting a new battery for your iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, or if it's still fine. To find your battery info: Go to your device Settings, then find Battery. Tap on Battery Health.
