WITH 67, LEAD DAVAO – Korean Park Jun Sung, who could not seem to get past the cutoff line in the combined tournaments of the Philippine Golf Tour and PGT Asia, took charge with a bogey-free five-under 67, leading the early surge of the lesser lights in the P3 million ICTSI Apo Golf Invitational here yesterday. While the pre-tournament favorites and the homegrown talents fumbled and stumbled during an early downpour at the tight Apo layout, Park flashed awesome form from start to finish, birdying the first two then picking up three more strokes on Nos. 9, 14 and 18 on a tricky course he hardly had knowledge of. He left as soon as he signed his scorecard, but the 33-34 start should augur well for the player who missed the cut in the PGTA’s first three legs at Luisita, Riviera and Manila. Park also failed to advance in the PGT’s kickoff tournament at Eagle Ridge last March before finishing tied for 24th in the Philippine Masters at Villamor last May. The unfancied bets … [Read more...] about Korean shocks Apo golf field

By Ikechukwu Nnochiri The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, said decision to compensate the victims was based on findings by the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, that they were not Boko Haram members as was alleged by security agencies. A three-man investigative panel of the NHRC led by Prof. Chidi Odinkalu had at the end of a public hearing it conducted after the incident that occurred on September 20, 2013, established that the victims were innocent. The victims who were squatting in the uncompleted building situated at the Apo District in Abuja, were discovered to be members of the FCT chapter of National Commercial Tricycle & Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association (NACTOMORAS). In its report, the NHRC indicted the DSS, saying there was no shred of evidence that the victims belonged to the dreaded Jama’atu ahlus sunnah lid da’awati wal jihad, also known as Boko Haram.
