Thaddeus Mast Naples Daily News Published 7:03 PM EDT Sep 10, 2018 Roads in downtown Bonita Springs are set to close Thursday to allow the historic Dixie Moon Cafe to be moved. The building will take the following route: Dean Street from Old 41 Road to Felts Avenue, Felts Avenue north to Wilson Street, and Wilson Street to Old 41 Road. The route is slated to close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as crews move the building. The building, which currently sits at the corner of Old 41 Road and Dean Street, will end up on a plot of land just south of the Liles Hotel. The cost, more than $70,000, will be covered by a developer who is building apartments on the land currently occupied by the cafe. The historic building was built in the 1920s and first housed Goodbread Grocery Store and Filling Station. The Dixie Moon Cafe operated from the old storefront for more than a decade in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
