Omar Abdullah questions Indian government for sharing stage with Taliban

November 10, 2018 by siasat Leave a Comment

Srinagar: Questioning the Indian government’s move of sharing the stage with the Taliban at a “non-official level” in Moscow, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah asked why cannot then the Union government led by Narendra Modi have a similar “non-official” discussion with non-mainstream leaders in India’s Jammu and Kashmir. The former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir questioned the parameter with which government opted to accept this invitation while keeping a distance from Kashmir’s secessionist leaders. Claiming that India is “not in talks with the Taliban in any form and simply invited as part of a reconciliation team for peace measures in Afghanistan”, BJP said that Abdullah is misleading people.
