The Hoste in Burnham Market has two events to tempt you out this month. On October 21 there is a Trafalgar Day dinner to honour Horatio Nelson. After a sumptuous dinner and a toast to Lord Nelson, stay and join in a few songs with The Shantymen. Tickets are £45 each. And then, on October 26, sample Brazil’s bossa nova with Georgia Mancio. Award-winning jazz vocalist Georgia returns to the Hoste with a quartet of acclaimed musicians to celebrate the joyous music and spirit of the enduring bossa nova. Created by Brazil’s iconic composer and multi-instrumentalist, Tom Jobim (most famous for The Girl From Ipanema), bossa nova reflects the sun and sea of Brazil’s cities and is at once sizzling and sophisticated. End the week with a three-course meal and musical entertainment to listen and dance to from 7pm. An all-inclusive meal and music ticket is £55 booked in advance and music only tickets are £15.
