AN Armed Forces charity is fighting to keep memories of World War One alive with the help of a host of celebrities. By Jack Andrews / Published 25th April 2018 GOOD HOUSEKEEPING/GETTY REMEMBRANCE: Ab Fab’s Joanna Lumley has joined the push to keep memories of World War One alive Ab Fab actress Joanna Lumley, pop singer Fleur East and double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes have joined the push. To mark the 100-year anniversary of the end of the Great War, the SSAFA, formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, is launching a campaign to get Brits to share their stories and photos. It is in response to an SSAFA study which found 18 to 36-year-olds have very little knowledge of the 1914-18 conflict. Corrie star and SSAFA ambassador, Antony Cotton, said: “It is important families continue to pass down stories of family members who sacrifi ced their lives.” GETTY GREAT WAR: Pop artist Fleur East has joined the push GETTY Peaky Blinders actress Helen McCrory is also supporting the campaign Peaky Blinders actress Helen McCrory and TV historian Dan Snow are also supporting the campaign. The SSAFA are urging the public to speak to older relatives to uncover stories from their own family history and share via ssafa.org.uk/world-war-100 or by using #WW100.
