Solomon J. KinermonJefferson County Jail An Illinois murder suspect was taken into custody in Birmingham by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. U.S. Marshal Marty Keely said they were notified Friday by the USMS Great Lakes Regional Task Force in Chicago 22-year-old Solomon J. Kinermon could be in the Birmingham area. Kinermon was wanted by the Chicago Police Deparment for first-degree murder. Keely said the Kinermon is accused of stabbing the victim to death on April 23. Additional details about the slaying weren’t immediately available. A warrant was signed against the suspect on May 23, and he fled Chicago. Marshals investigators in Birmingham developed information on several addresses that Kinermon was known to frequent in Birmingham and were actively searching for him. On Monday, lawmen spotted Kinermon in a white Nissan Altima that was stopped in the 4600 block of Seventh Avenue in Wylam. Keely said Kinermon was positively identified as the suspect and was taken into custody while he was walking into a home there. Kinermon is being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting extradition to Illinois.
