New Delhi: Team India, led by Virat Kohli, are among the top contenders for the upcoming World Cup slated to be held in England and Wales from May 30. The second ranked ODI team will begin their tournament campaign against South Africa on June 5. Before that, India will play two warm-up games against New Zealand and Bangladesh on May 25 and 28 respectively. Strengths: Another positive for the Indian team going into the showpiece event is their bowling. With the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the line up, the bowling line-up can wreak havoc on any opposition, even on the flat pitches which will be there on offer in England. Weaknesses: The number four conundrum also continues to spark doubts over stability in the middle order. And an injured, out-of-form Kedar Jadhav is another cause for concern who is not only capable of hitting big but also gives Kohli the option of a fifth bowler. Opportunities: Apart from the likes … [Read more...] about Can India Replicate 1983 Magic In England?

Tehran: A senior Iranian official called Donald Trump a "crazy President" whose threats against Tehran weren't going to work, adding that if the US President wanted to talk, he'll not only have to show some respect, but come up with a consistent message. Trump is "crazy" and his administration is "confused", Iran's Director of Foreign Affairs for the country's parliament, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, told CNN in an exclusive interview ON Monday. Hossein's remark comes after Trump in a series of tweets on Sunday asked Iran "never to threaten" the US and warned Tehran that if it wants a fight, it would be "the official end" of the Islamic nation. "In his mind, Trump thinks he has a gun to Iran's head with sanctions and he is trying to shut down our economy," Amir-Abdollahian told CNN. "This is all in his imagination. Now he wants us to call him? This is a crazy president." "Within the White House there is a lot of conflicting opinions," Amir-Abdollahian said, pointing to "warmongers" in … [Read more...] about Iranian official calls Trump ‘crazy President’
Paris: The Eiffel Tower in Paris had to be evacuated on Monday after a man tried to scale it. Police and other emergency workers including firefighters in the French capital were immediately scrambled to the 900 feet structure, which has just celebrated its 130th anniversary. The man could be seen dangling just below the third and highest level of the structure. It was not immediately clear how the trespasser managed to get past the tower’s stringent security system. A Paris police spokeswoman said a team of firefighters, including a climbing specialist, were at the scene and in touch with the intruder, whose motivations remained unclear. Officials did not immediately provide further information about the incident. It is not the first time someone has attempted to climb the Eiffel Tower. In 2015 a British freerunner, James Kingston, climbed it without safety ropes and without permission, dodging security cameras as he went. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris, at 324 … [Read more...] about Eiffel Tower evacuated as man tries to scale it
