A popular gin festival headed back to Middlesbrough this weekend. The event, by The Gin Society, came to Teesside University’s Students Union once again on Friday and Saturday. Those with tickets were able to explore a world of gin through different bars, divided into British, World, Fruit and Cocktail. More than one hundred varieties of the juniper-based spirit were on offer to customers. Prosecco and Prosecco cocktails (with gin and vodka) were also available, alongside a small selection of bottled ales. Gin Society festival at Teesside University Student union bar View gallery Customers paying £8.50 were treated to a gin glass, a gin guide booklet to guide them on their journey, a pen, access to masterclasses and tasting station as well as the chance to sample of 120 gins. Standard single gins were priced at £5 with a mixer and garnish, while the Prosecco Gin cocktails were £10.
